Events By location - Number of events

Hi folks,
I have configured EB to HIDE past events --- all good!
However, on the Events By Location module, if I configure it to show the number of events, to seems to count ALL events, including past events.

If I have a location say, with 6 past events only, then the ' By Location' module will show (6 Events), but if I click on it, there will be no events to display, and the message: "There are no events found". This is a little confusing for users

Is it an easy fix to have the module look at the 'Show/Hide Past Events' config setting, or else maybe to display a message that the numbers include past events??
I am using EB 2.0.1 and Joomla 3.4.3
