eShop "ask Question" feature was created by Mary Cilia
I am evaluating e-commerce options for a prospect:
initially we would run the app in catalog Mode, but would like more info on how the "Ask Question" feature can be configured.
Would the query automatically pick-up the identification of the item they were looking at when clicked?
and can the 'form' that is opened be customized? Would be the same form for all products, but would want to include some checkboxes for visitor to complete.
Current site catalog can be seen at www.elyent.com/used_equipment.html
clicking on any of the "More Info" buttons shows the current form, and as you can see in the resulting URL, it carries details about the product you clicked on.
It may be that some of the fields in the form wouldn't be necessary if it is picked up from the product, but would like to know what happens when the Ask Question link is clicked and how much flexibility is available for what happens next.

Hello Mary,
Thank you for interesting in our EShop Shopping Cart extension. "Ask Question" feature in EShop works as following:
1. When ask question is clicked, a popup window with a form will be displayed to allow customer to enter some information there: Name, email, telephone, message to ask about the product.
2. After enter the information, customer will click on the Submit button on the form. Then the system will send the email to admin to tell him about that request from customer.
If you want to add more fields in the form, then we must customize the ask question layout.
Sincerely, Giang

Do we answer these questions in eshop, i cant seem to find a link in eshop to read the asked questions, or a place to respond to them, or a place where answered questions are displayed for customers.

Hi Clifton,
The question is only sent to the admin's email. There is no feature to manage that question at the back-end side now.
Sincerely, Giang
