URGENT Questions to ask about Membership Pro..

I REQUIRE SOME URGENT ASSISTANCE PLEASE ON THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS....
I am interested in purchasing several of your components for a new website I am building for a client and have a couple of URGENT questions about your Membership Pro component before I am convinced it will do what my client requires....
1. Is it possible to have the members of the site searchable in various ways? If so, what are the various ways members can be searched within the site using or adding various fields or being able to add more fields to the membership component to allow this to happen.. eg: name, gender, address, occupation, age, phone number etc. and if so, is this feature already built into the component or do I require additional programming to have this feature a possibility?
2. Is it possible to export the membership list/database or membership category lists/databases so they can be placed in to a mail merge, data base or label printing software off the website? If this is possible, what software is required to link with it to allow this to happen... eg: Microsoft Access etc?
3. And is it possible for the memberships of the site to have several categories so members can register on the site in the category they require eg: hair dressers, retail assistants, business owners, etc...?
I hope this all makes sense to you and would really like to get a better understanding of some of the features of your component. These are specific questions that my client is asking about and I need clarified before they will accept the job.

Thank you so much for replying to my message so quickly, and for confirming that the component can do what is needed for my questions 2 & 3.

For question #1 however, is there anyway the component already has a search feature, and if so, what are the ways it can search?

I have noticed in the Documentation to the component, that it allows custom fields to receive more information on the members during their registration, however, can the component perform a search, based on these custom fields?

If not, am I able to pay the extra and get your company to add/program in a various field/search feature to the component for me, and if that is possible, how much would it cost me for this feature to be programmed into my client's site?

Hi Dianne

At the moment, there is not a feature to display subscribers from front-end of the site, so there is no search features available as well.

Could you please explain more details about how you want to search for members ? From front-end or back-end ?

Once again, thank you so much for your very prompt reply.

My client has specifically asked to have their website search for Members in various ways so they can select specific members to send out emails or information to.

They don't always want to send out the same information to all members, so they have requested that they would like to have their mailing list / member search, set up as follows....

This is the information about the search feature they require - "The database needs to be searchable by first name, surname, company name and industry."

I hope that helps you sort out what I require....

Sorry, I forgot to mention that...

I believe they would like to search them from both the front and backend, if that is possible.

Frontend search for people wanting to find someone in the association who is in a specific industry or by name etc. And in the Backend to find the person/people they need to send information to regarding a specific industry or category etc...

For this need, I am afraid of it will cost your client about 300$ for customizing the extension to have the feature. It will take us 1 week to work on it to get it completed 1

Thanks so much for that information, I will let them know, I'm sure there shouldn't be any problem at all with the cost as it is something they really need to have within the membership component of the site.

I will let them know on Monday and then if they accept my website proposal, I will let you know and get it organised.

How much notice do you need to do this, as I understand it will take 1 week to program, but if they do accept my quote, I only have 4 weeks to build and complete the site and I wouldn't want the programming to hold it up, so I would just like to know how much notice you would need to get it done for me so I can ensure the site and the component programming is done in time...?
