Events Booking combined with Members Pro was created by Lionel Charrier
I intend to use Events Booking in association with Membership Pro, Community Builder and a document base DocMan.
I am organizing training courses and want the trainees, that should be first member of the association.
The best for me would be
  1. When a member books to a training course, I is given access to training document (stored within a given DocMan category) for the duration of the training courses composed of several separated documents and possibly for 10 to 15 days after it ends.
  2. When a non-member wants to book a training course he is first asked to become a member and the member fee shall be added to his course fee.

If the two products cannot be entirely linked like that, it is acceptable to me that the future member first becomes membre of the association and then go the the training program to book a course. There would be two separated paiement in that case.

The important issues are that :
  1. Only members of the association can book a course
  2. Booking a course shall be considered in the maximum number of trainees of that course and the possible waiting list
  3. Accepted trainees can download the training course, with time limitation

What can be done, and how could it be done, with your two products: Event Booking and Membership Pro ?

Kind Regards

Hi

It cannot be done by default. You will need to have a clever developer to setup the three extensions so that it can work together and might need some customization if needed. All is used Joomla Groups settings. Joomla ACL settings in the three extensions to make it works.

It is not easy to setup if you are just an end - user. I can say that it is possible, but you will need to have a Joomla developer (who understand Joomla ACL) to help you to setup and combine the three extensions to make it works for you.

Regards,

Tuan

Hi Tuan and thanks for your concern and responses.
If I understand well, it is not impossible to do it by setting properly the ACL. There, normally, will not be necessary with write down some php code to do that.
I am end-user, not developer, but I would say advanced end-user. I may be able to sort out it if I am sure that I do not have to write a specific php code or to hack your's (I never used hacked code as upgrade becomes too difficult)

I agree that ACL with Joomla is not so easy to understand, and I discover every day. I have already created dedicated groups associated with "simple membership" and dedicated children groups on a per training course basis (Level 2 diving training, Level 3 diving Training, Instructor etc...)
I have notice that with Membership I can assign users to selected Joomla groups when he sign up for a subscription plan and remove users from these group when their subscription expired. With that it is clear document belonging to the group can be downloaded.
Lets take an exemple. Assuming that the user is already a member of the association an he wants to book a training course for "level 2 diving." There are several sessions at different dates Session1, Session2 etc.
I create a subscription within MembershipPro for each session. I associate a price to it, the training course price and a group "Level 2 course". Once the member has paid can I route him to book one seat on the proper session of training course within EventBooking? Is it with Membership URL plugging.
Do you have any doc on this plugging, is is not in the online doc.

Anyway I thing it will be complicated as I will have to create specific membership for each training session. The goal is to transfer that task to a secretary and it has to be simple and mostly done from FrontEnd.

If I cannot adapt the product to the practice, may be I can adapt the practice to the product (Marketing people would laugh) : Separate the training session from the right to download the training documents.
  • Just create a access right for the documentation at a fee, in addition of the truing course itself entirely managed by Even Booking. Create a subscription for x weeks in Member Ship to give access to the documentation.
  • With Membership Pro, Members pay for the documentation, if free they will download all and any.
  • With Event Booking, members pay for the training session they book.
I just have a question. Can I have the event shown to simple visitor but booking performed only if your are a member ?
If yes, the only thing that remains in that case is my fixed-end-date subscription joomdonation.com/forum/questions/42250-m...-fixed-end-date.html to which you already gave me a very good response.

Kind Regards
Lionel

Hey,
I look into the tables of subscribers (Member pro) and registrants (event booking). They look almost like the same....

I think for the OS programmer it will be not so difficult.... for me as a user it is difficult to match the data (-;

I hope in the near future you combine the both products....

Thanks Hubert
