Convert DOCman to Documents Seller

Hi I'm looking to convert a site that presently offers many documents and media files for download using the DOCman component (ver. 1.4) to offer the documents and media files for sale. Is there a straightforward conversion path or some documentation available to help me convert from DOCman to Documents Seller?

Documents Seller comes with a tool to help you migrate documents from Docman To Documents Seller . Steps to migrate include :
- Point the documents path config variable to the folder where you store Docman Documents (in the configuration function of Documents Seller) .
- Access to menu Tools -> Choose Migrate From Docman -> Press migrate button to do the migration . All categories, Documents From Docman will be migrated to Documents Seller .

Tuan I have downloaded and configured DMS pretty easily and I'm almost there on getting my site migrated from DOCman, but I need to know how to disable PayPal as a payment option. The site owner wants to use Authorize.net as the only payment gateway. Do you have any advice?

In configuration function of DMS, there is a tab called Payment . In this tab, look for Payment methods config option, choose Authorize.net .

I chose Authorize.net and have the proper Merchant ID and Transaction Key info in those fields, but when I test a Document order it still defaults to PayPal as the payment gateway.

That's strange . Could you email me adminstrator account so that I can have a quick look at your setting? Please send it via support ticket system .

The problem is that you set Bypass Paypal Order Form to Yes and the extension uses Paypal . Just set this config option to No will solve the problem .

OK, new issue: Since migrating all the files from DOCman, there are a few links to certain documents on internal site pages that return a "Restricted Access" message, I assume because they were originally placed in the database using DOCman. When I go into the Joomla Admin panel to access the DOCman component, I also get a "Restricted Access" message. Can Documents Seller and DOCman work together or does DS somehow disable DOCman? Do I need to create a new directory path and move all the documents to it? Thanks for all your help.

DMS is independent with Docman, so the restricted message may cause by some setting on your server. Please send me detail email :

- Your site URL
- Example link from external page .
- FTP account and Joomla administrator account .
