a) people choose the paymentmethod when subscribing to the waiting list
b) where moved to the registrants-list as soon as a space opens up

then
c) people could be mailed a link to finish the payment (within 3 days or so, or else be taken of the list).
d) people could be on the registrants list with registration status "Pending".

This would be the ideal situation, as far as I am concerned.

could this be implemented?

From programming point of view, Yes, we can do that. However, I think I won't implement this feature into the extension in the near future:

1. This is complicated and will take much time to implement. What happens if the user received email doesn't make payment within 3 days? We will need to send email to the next users in the queue and then wait for another 3 days and so on....This will be complicated and almost cannot be automatic. Instead of spending time to work on this feature (which not many customers need it as far as I can see), I will spend time to work on other useful features like rss integration, integration with Google Calendar, export to iCAL, rss integration, bypass confirmation page, invoicing, ticket PDF, barcode integration.... These features will have much more priority than the mentioned feature.

2. So in this case, this process will need to be manually by administrator. When a user cancel his registration, administrator will receive notification email about this cancellation. He can then check the waiting list, email the users from waiting list asking them for registration (even making a phone call....). That process should be acceptable.

Hi Tuan,
I really like the software, but the Waiting list issue is causing some problems. I wanted to ask you about "best practices" with my situation:

We have increased the size of the class maximum to handle 8 other people. Joomla 1.5.26, Events Booking 1.4.5 (Tangent: I see we have an update available, how do I get that?). We have a pay event that allows offline payment (aka, they bring a personal check when they checkin).

I want to be able to move the entries in the Waiting list to the Registrants list. I don't see that option. I can't export the waiting list to a spreadsheet either. No problem I just open another tab, and choose to "Add a registrant" and copy the information, field by field, from the waiting list entry detail, into the new registrant info. - Problem I am running into, however:
  1. I am using 2 special info fields during sign up. Those don't show up on the backend when I sign them up.
  2. Will the "max attendee" item prevent me from adding the new registrant when I try to save?
  3. The Total price, when adding someone through the backend, shows as $0.00. Also, no option to add Credit Card information. I don't know if I should even be doing this in the backend.
  4. So, let's say I go through the rigamarole of calling my waiting list people. asking them to call me, getting them on the phone, and manually entering them on the front end, I KNOW I will need to go into the backend, increase the "max attendance" by 1, and quickly get their info in case someone else on the internet signs up and takes that spot?

Or am I missing something here?

Unfortunately, it also won't work. At the moment, it only works for free events.
