eDocman ACL on frontend upload | cat templates ? was created by pepperstreet
Hello,
I am a joomlatools Docman user. I really like the simple upload and frontend editing.
The major drawbacks:
- The Docman usergroups work on document level... not on categories.
- Upload in frontend offers ALL categories
- Templates are global. Not per (root)category.
Questions:
1.) Did you change or extend the template assignment?
2.) Does J! ACL apply to eDocmans categories and documents?
3.) Does J! ACL aplly to frontend-upload? i.e. modify and restrict category selectbox?
Thanks in advance.

Hi
=> Infact, EDocman and Docman are the two different extensions. So I didn't change anything. Basically, EDocman allows each category can use a different type of layout (there are 3 layout types available : Default, Column, and table). When you create a category, you can choose the layout you want to use for that category.
=> Yes. It apply to both Categories and Documents. Also, the permission is inherited. See joomdonation.com/index.php?option=com_co...ult-permission-setup for explaination .
=> Yes .

Thanks for your quick replies. Some more questions...
- Do you provide a Frontend-/Backend demo? I could not find a demo-user or -admin account info?
- I would like to see the frontend upload and ACL in action.
- Is there any upload-progress indicator? Useful for bigger files. What max size is possible?
- Since you work with CB. Are you going to offer CB plugins? (MyDownloads, MyUploads, etc.)
By the way, CB integration:
I can´t see my Avatar in Kunena? As far as I know, that is a simple Kunena integration parameter. It seems to be OFF.
