Drop down field length

Hi,

I have created a new dropdown field for different payment selection, some has longer text. Is it possible to adjust the length of the dropdown field so that it will be longer to accommodate the longest field.

I understand that if you click dropdown, it shows the whole text, but I want to display the longest especially when selected.
