Manage fields - Select list was created by Krx
Hello
I created a Custom field - Select list. It has three items.
In frontend it's shown as dropdown list with 4 values: 1st one is empty and rest are my three items.
Instead first empty option, I'd like to have option "Please select"
Is this possible?
If not via admin please tell me which file to modify in order to have it as explained.
Latest Joomla 5, latest OS Services Booking 11
Thanks, Regards

Hi,
Thank you for pointing this out. Your suggestion makes perfect sense. We have checked the dropdown behavior and agree that displaying “Please select” instead of an empty first option would be clearer for users.
We will include this small improvement in the next release of OS Services Booking.
Thank you for helping us improve the extension.
Best regards,
Dam

Another issue is if I for example set OSB frontend menu with selected dates:
I have 5 various free days available in November, let say: 3, 5, 7, 15 and 20
And in December: 10, 11, 12, 15, 21
If I want to display only November and December months in calendar picker in OSB menu options I've set:
Select date from: 01 November
Select date to: 31 December
Problem: when booking page is opened, and today is not november, Calendar shows 1th November as selected despite today is not November.
I guess that calendar script tries to select current date. If it today is date before "From" setting in menu, calendar cant select and show current date. Instead it shows From date as selected.
Is it possible that calendar doesn't show current date as pre-selected?
Imho best solution to fix this is to have Toggle option in Booking configuration:
Select current date in calendar: Yes No
Thanks

Hi,
Thank you for explaining your concern.
When you set the Start Date to 1 November, the calendar opens at that date because it is the beginning of the configured date range. If the current date falls before that range, the calendar uses the Start Date as its initial selection.
This is the intended behavior rather than a bug. The initial selection does not mean that the date has available booking slots; availability is handled separately.
Adding a “Select current date: Yes / No” option would not change the configured date range or resolve this behavior. We also prefer to avoid adding configuration options that offer little practical benefit, as they can make the setup more complicated.
Best regards,
Dam

Noted.
Id still like that calendar doesn't have preselected date
because in our usage case it doesn't look "friendly" it as it displays yellow triangle and message about non available services
Imho better option would be to have no date automatically selected and message to select available date.
If thats not available in option, can you point me to the js or ajax file where it selects From date in calendar so that I can remove it manually?
Thanks
