Hey there,we would like to make our booking system more flexible and have the following requirements:
Basic Idea:
A “seat” or resource is available within a fixed time range (e.g. daily from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM).
Within this time frame, customers should be able to
freely choose their own booking duration and start time.
Desired Functionality:
- Flexible Start Time & Duration
- The customer can select a custom start time (e.g. 3:00 PM)
- The customer can choose an individual duration (e.g. 25 minutes)
- Automatic Reservation + Buffer Time
- The system reserves the selected time (e.g. 3:00–3:25 PM)
- Additionally, a fixed buffer/transition time of 3 minutes should be automatically added after each booking
- In this example, the slot would be internally blocked until 3:28 PM
- Next Available Booking
- The next customer can only book after the buffer time has passed (e.g. from 3:28/3:29 PM)
- Again with a freely selectable duration (e.g. 3:29–4:20 PM → internally blocked until 4:23 PM)
- Independent Bookings (No Fixed Time Grid)
- Bookings should not be limited to fixed intervals (e.g. 15, 30, or 60 minutes)
- Example:
- Customer 1: 3:00–3:25 PM
- Customer 2: 3:29–4:20 PM
- Customer 3: 5:00–5:15 PM
- Per-Minute Pricing
- Pricing should be calculated per minute (e.g. 1 minute = €1)
- The total price is automatically calculated based on the selected duration
Questions:
- Is this type of dynamic, flexible time slot booking possible with your plugin/system?
- Is there an existing feature that supports this (e.g. flexible duration, resource-based booking, variable time slots)?
- If not, what kind of customization or extension would be required?
