Reminder Settings | Cronjob

Hi,

i'm a little bit confused
In online documentation i readed "X Days"
In translation "OS_CONFIGURATION_HOURS_BEFORE".

I must enter hours or days?

when i trigger the cronjob manually i see a white page. that is correct? no output is displayed?
I ask because no reminder email is sent, although I have activated the mail template and the settings.
