Cannot get calendar colors to change

I have set the calendar colors to change the color of past dates, current date, and available dates (using the layout settings in the admin configuration), but no matter what I do the colors do not show up. The whole calendar is green and I cannot change it. I'm also trying to change the background color for past and unavailable time slots to a different color than pink, but there is no place in the menu where I can find how to do this. I just bought this component last week, so I assume I should have the most current version. How do I do this?
