Featured properties only module (or slideshow) was created by MelanieB
Hi,
I have a question regarding featured properties in that I was wondering how it worked.
Firstly, I want to charge for featuring a property. I have installed membership pro to handle this hopefully.
My question is, if a member pays to feature their property, is there a way of displaying it with other featured properties in some kind of slide show? Secondly, if there is such a module, will show every single featured property, or will it just display those related to the page a person is viewing i.e. for a particular area, property type etc.? SO for example, if a person is searching for properties in London, will the featured properties they see in the module only display those in London, or all featured properties everywhere?
If the latter is the case then I couldn't see the benefit of members paying to feature, as the chance of being spotted would be minuscule.

Hi Mel,
OS Property has 2 slider modules: OSP Slideshow and OS Content slider. These modules have the parameters to allow you to setup to show Featured properties of specific States or Cities.
Based on those parameters, you can create different versions of those modules to show Featured properties of different states/ provinces.
Normally, the featured properties will be shown at the top of properties listing pages. Of course, they will be paid attention more than other standard properties. That's the benefit of Featured properties, you should make this point clear to your customers who will decide to pay or don't pay to upgrade their properties to Featured
Thanks
Dam

Hi Dam,
thanks for responding. I had tried those. The only one I can get working is the OS Content Slider, but it doesn't display the images. When I check Google Chrome Inspect, I see java errors saying
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)
NOTE: I also just noticed that the url in the error message has 2 backslashes as follows:
www.mysite.com //cache/mod_os_contentslider/b56db93752409f5c517bf6ac16e7ad3a-251480087211j1.png Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)
I have cleared website cache, cleared browser cache and it still does not display them images.
Would you know what is causing this?
The other slideshow doesn't display at all it just shows a continuous loading circle - even when I turn off the java.

Hi Dam thanks - perfect.
Is there any way of hiding the number of bedrooms etc. in the features module?

My apologies - I mean OS Content Slider.
I found the section I needed to change - I was only asking if I could hide them thinking it would be the solution to the module shrinking and growing to accomodate the details. To stop this I went to Global settings and turned off the auto size and also gave it a fixed height - now it works beautifully
A last question - I am guessing more a feature request, so maybe I need to post it there?
It would be good if the module could detect the city/location a user searches for and only show those properties that match for that area (and it would mean that members who pay for featuring their listing are only displayed in that location - meaning as currently all featured properties are shown regardless of where they are located which can be at one side of a country or the other. I know there is a field in the settings to filter locations, but it really needs to detect this based on what the user searches for as we can't predict that - if that makes sense.
