is it possible to use the google map in a module position and show all the properties on the map as default? The search function is not so friendly - it opens fully zoomed in.

We have the add-on for OS Property called : OS Property Map module. It allows you to setup to show properties in different parameters and show on the module positions. You can try to use it if you want.
