internal server error 500

Hello,
Since turning on url rewriting, i get the internal server error 500 on every page i access on my site but when i turn it off the site works fine??I want it on so that you dont see 'index.php' in the url.

You need to change file htaccess.txt at the root of Joomla site to .htaccess
It will remove index.php in the url

i have another quick question..At the moment i have osproperty version 2.6.2 i want to upgrade to new version but when i go to My Downloads, the only version i can download is the old one 2.6.2 how do i get the new version?
