Understanding Languages packages was created by ARABIA
Hi,
I am a little confused about the language packages. Here are my questions:
1. Are the languages files for the front end, backend or both?
2. If for front end, can I change the frontend language after installation of one language without losing my save properties?
3. If for backend and frontend, is it possible to have one language on the front and a different one on the back?
Thank you

Hi Arabia,
1. When you install OS Property, you the language files for different languages will be installed too. The language package includes both front-end and back-end.
2. If you only change the language content, it won't effect to your properties. But if you install newer version, it will overwrite your modified language files. And you must re-translate. A tip for you is before installing new version, you can backup language file. It's in language > lang_code > lang_code.com_osproperty.ini and administrator > > lang_code > lang_code.com_osproperty.ini, after that, you can merge it into language file of new version.
3. You must remove the language file of different languages at front-end
language > lang_code >lang_code.com_osproperty.ini
For example: if you don't need Spanish language file at front-end, you can remove it in:
language > es-ES > es-ES.com_osproperty.ini
Thanks
Dam

Hi Dang,
Thanks for the quick reply and the good insight. I read a little bit more in the documentation (which is excellent), and have a better understanding of languages. I have been in the process of trying to use the translation tool on the backend. When I tried to switch to spanish it gives error >Language file /home/arabia5/public_html/language/es-ES/es-ES.com_osproperty.ini does not exists.
I then proceed to install the file from the language folder and it gave me this error >JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file
I am a little lost now. I followed the documentation instructions on creating different languages for site, admin, and content. Seemed to work ok, but I need the OS property labels in spanish.
If I upgrade to 2.5 will this process be easier and also save my uploaded properties?
Please advise?
Thanks!

Hi,
I send you 2 Spanish language files here. So you are able to copy them to corresponding folder.
For back-end: back-end.es-ES.zip
For front-end: front-end.es-ES.com_osproperty.zip
Thanks
Dam
