Please check the Configuration > Tab Images > Thumbnail image width size and Thumbnail image height size.
Currently, the size of thumb are: 600 x 400 px

I don't and the image is load to its maximum size.
I try "Making thumbnail and medium photos by manually" or automatic nothing changes
