Yes, that's the different.
When you select properties, you must enter the property ids in field Property IDs, for example : 1,2,3,4 v.v. They are unique number of properties, you can find them in the properties management list.
If you select search criteria, you enter enter state ID, category IDs, type IDs v.v. and select sort by option. The search module will search properties depend on your search criteria and return them in the "sort by" option. If you don't select any options, the module will return all properties, of course we have limit item fields.
