Changing basic fields was created by ilan
Hello guys,
I work in Italy and i need different fields from the ones inserted by default on the extension...
We don't have different states, and i only work in Milan...
So, I think i need to edit the "States" field (That would become "City") and the field City on the extension would be divided into different areas of Milan..
I tried to change these fields but seems impossible (I can change the elements of the field but not the name)...
Thank you very much for your help.

Hi,
I am afraid that we can't just simple change the field title. Because the location in OS Property are organized by country - state - city. It's important and difficult to change. Because this feature relate to other features like manage properties, manage agents, search functionality v.v.
In case you only use one state "Milano", you can unpublish other state "Milano" in Italy. And user can only select state "Milano" and cities of that state.
Thanks
Dam

Hi, thanks for your answer...
I knew that it would not have been easy to change these fields...
The only thing i need, is to rename these fields leaving their functions as they are..
I hav only a City, caled Milan, divided in different areas..
So, if i use the label "City" instead of "State" and the label "Areas" instead of "City", I don't modify the architecture of the extension...Choosing "City", i can access to different "Areas" in the same way that now, choosing "State", i can access to different Cities...
Thank you very much for your help,

Hi,
In that case, simpler, you can remove all states of Italy, and then, create new state (by manually) Milan, and then create the cities (area of Milan). Next, you need to translate the labels, state -> city and city ->area.
A bit complicate, hope you can solve it.
Thanks
Dam

Ok, thnk you very very much for your kindness!
How do I change the label name?
Is there an option on the backend to do that or i have to modify something internal at the extension?
I also tried to import a csv file but it says that file is too long...
Thank a lot,

You can translate the labels from backend, translate labels funtion. You can also translate the files directly
languages > it-IT > it-IT.com_osproperty.ini
administrato > languages > it-IT > it-IT.com_osproperty.ini
About the import data function: You can reduce the number records in the CSV and re-import.
Thanks
Dam

Hi, thanks very much!
So, I went to the configuration, i've chosen "translation" and i put the italian file downloaded from your site..
To change the labels, i opened the file "italian.ini" with textedit and i changed the values..
It didn't work, labels and translations are the same as before.
I also tryed to change labels directly from the panel on the backend, i save and close it.
But when i open it again, new fields are not updated and anything has been saved....
Thanks for your help,
I
