Some customers ask us that they can't install language package in Joomla 2.5.x or Joomla 3.x, even they've already selected the language packages to install from Extension installation form of Joomla.
The reason of the problem is the language packages of OS Property are not installation extensions so they can't be installed as other extensions.
To install language package, you have 2 ways
1. Copy the language package (zip) file to root of Joomla site, and extract it by using "ext explorer", "file man" extensions or "file manager" of your hosting. The language files will be copied to corresponding folder.
2. Extract the package package (zip) file at your computer, and copy the language files to corresponding folder in your site by manually.
For example, you extract file: fr-FR.com_osproperty.ini.zip, you will see 2 folders
"administrator" and "language"
You can open folder
"administrator > language > fr-FR" and copy 2 files
fr-FR.com_osproperty.ini and fr-FR.com_osproperty.sys.ini to folder Root_of_joomla > administrator > language > fr-FR
and
"language > fr-FR" and copy file
fr-FR.com_osproperty.ini to folder Root_of_joomla > language > fr-FR
And you are done.
We also have some notes related to language problem.
1. If you are using language that different with English, and you upgrade OS Property to new version, after that, you may see in OS Property (Frontend or Backend), there are some words that starting with OS_, for example : OS_REVIEW, OS_SUMMARY v.v. They are language constants.
The reason of this problem is in new version of OS Property, we may add some language constants into OS Property but we don't update the language files for all language packages (except English). To solve the issue, please go to Backend > OS Property > Translation labels > select your language and update the language content for those words from English to your language.
2. The language packages of OS Property are mainly made by Google Translate. So they may contains wrong text translation. If you can correct them and send back to us, so we can upgrade for other customers. We are really appreciate it
