Stripe vs Stripe Checkout

Good afternoon,
I'd like to ask a few questions about the stripe and stripe checkout payment plugins for Membership Pro. In the doc here , it says that "The MP Stripe payment plugin allow users to enter credit card payment information directly on your site for processing payment".

Question: Is the credit card information stored in the Joomla database? We are very concerned about security, and do not want to store credit card information.

On the same page, it says that the Stripe Checkout plugin should be used if you need to meet the SCA (Strong Customer Authentication) requirements. This is true if any of the following apply:

• Your business is based in the European Economic Area or you create payments on behalf of connected accounts based in the EEA .
• You serve customers in the EEA.
• You accept cards (credit or debit).

Question: Our organization is based in Canada, but we would like to take payment via credit cards. Should we use the Stripe Checkout plugin instead?

No, credit card data is not stored in Joomla database. When users enter credit card information on the form, it will be encrypted by Stripe and be passed to Stripe. The credit card data is never submitted to server or be stored in Joomla database, don't worry

In your case, I think you can use MP Stripe because it is a bit simpler for users to make payment. They don't need to be redirected to Stripe, just enter credit card information directly on your site to process payment
