payment failed for recurring payments

If a payment fails for a recurring subscription, do the payment failed messages come directly from PayPal / Stripe.
How do we know if a payment has failed (so they have not renewed automatically) and does the MP system send out anything in these cases?

Hi Alison

Currently, Membership Pro does not handle payment failure for recurring subscription. So when it happens, the subscription will just not be renewed

The failure recurring payment notification should come to you and customer from payment gateway (PayPal, Stripe in this case)
