Max. Subscription Limit and Group Members

Hello OSTeam:

My client has a website that allows for 800 subscribers which are based on 800 households (I am using the Max. Subscription function in the plan).   Also, the client allows for "associate members" of the household, to be a part of the subscription.  

I created a plan that would allow for a fixed amount of associate members using the Group function.  This would allow for the "associate members" to manage their own account, but not be able to administer the main account.

The Challenge
Each of "associate member", using the Group function are counted as separate users in Joomla and MP and therefore, and are counted in the 800 member limit of the plan.

I can set them up in custom fields which will give us the information we need, but not allow the "associate member" to edit their information.

Is their a way to make sure the "associate Member" using the Group function, is not counted in the Max. Subscription limit we set.

Likely, I am missing something, so appreciate your guidance.

Hi Channing

It was not supported but I just added support for it. You can access to My Downloads menu item, download latest package, update it to your site

Then edit the plugin Membership Pro - Limit Subscriptions. There is a parameter called Exclude Group Members, set it to Yes and it will work as you want

Following up on this ticket.
1, The problem with the plan unpublishing, is the members cannot then renew nor see their subscription info in the profile, only edit profile, not renew (unless I set the max at 1 more than the official capacity which could be a problem). The club membership is always at full capacity and cannot exceed it.

-Is it possible that the plan is still published after capacity met, but not allow for new subscribers and shows that it is at full capacity with possibly a custom message from the club...
-And still allow the current members to renew their subscriptions?

Or am I not understanding something?

2. The other question is about renewal and if this counts against the total capacity set.  I noticed that when someone renews before the expiration date of the plan, there is are now two entries. Am testing now, but hoping this will not be added to the max. capacity for the current year while people are signing up for the next year and will be added to the next year capacity.

Unfortunately, the plugin/approach has the limitations you mentioned:

- The plugin unpublish the plan which reach the capacity, so Yes, users cannot renew the subscription
- The plugin also count the renewal records to the check the limit

I will see if I can improve the plugin to handle the use-case better. But for now, it still have the limitation
