Lifetime Membership?

I am unable to set my subscriptions to Lifetime Membership.
I can turn it on, but when I save it, the option turns off.

I want people who sign up for a 6 month gym membership (billed monthly)to continue to be billed after the 6 months are up.

I guess you are having recurring subscription plan? If so, you do not need it to be Lifetime. For recurring subscription, subscription will continue being renewed until admin/subscribers cancel the subscription, so you do not have to worry about it

I'm sorry I misunderstood my client.

This is what I think they want if possible:
They have a 6 month pre-pay gym membership. after 6 months, they would like for it to convert to a month to month membership until the member cancels.

is this possible?

They previously used j2store and told me that's how it worked.

Yes, it is possible. Just setup a recurring subscription plan with trial duration set to 6 months. See docs.joomdonation.com/membershippro/basi...-with-trial-duration for details setup

one more question:
If I update the current 6 month plan, will people who are already on this plan start being charged monthly after their 6 months is up. Or will it only affect people who subscribe after my update?

Hello

If you change setting of a recurring subscription plan, it will only affect the subscribers subscribe for your plan after the update. Existing subscribers will still have the old plan settings applied
