Upgrade Paypal Integration was created by James Selman
I use the basic paypal payment option for Membership pro and it has worked great for years.
Today when logging into paypal I was notified of their desire for me to upgrade to their new "Integration" which includes Pay Later options, debit and credit cards, and a better checkout. There’s no additional cost.
Will upgrading to the new integration cause any failure to the paypal payment option that we have used for years? Should I expect the membership pro payment to continue working seamlessly after upgrading to the new integration?
Thank you for this wonder faithful product.

Hello James
That upgrade is not simple by changing a setting from your PayPal account. It will require installing a new paid payment plugin from Membership Pro (which costs you 24.99$)
Also, that payment plugin, currently, does not support recurring payment. So if you are using recurring subscription plans, I think you should keep using the current PayPal payment plugin
Regards,
Tuan

Which payment plugin would be needed if this "new" integration is updated?
Thank you very much Tuan for your help and the service you give to the community. The work is greatly appreciated.
Comment: The way paypal is wording this message, it sounds like it may be inevitable at some point in the future. I would like to be ready if eventually forced to make this change.

Hi James
It's the MP PayPal Standard Checkout payment plugin. But as I said, it only supports onetime payment subscription at the moment, not recurring subscription

Understood. Thank you. I do not plan to change or update the integration, but if forced by Paypal, it helps to know how to solve the problem.
Your counsel is greatly appreciated

OK James. It will be hard for PayPal to force to switch to new integration. The reason is because PayPal Website Payment Standard method which is using by Membership Pro by default is very widely used, not easy for people to switch to new method
So you can keep using that default payment method for now
