Question about Subscription Length and Fixed Expiration Date

Hi there,

First question: I would like a subscription that ends on a certain date, for example, 15-Aug-2027.  I set the Fixed Expiration Date to 15-Aug-2027, but what do I set the Subscription Length to? Does one take precedence over the other?

Second question: in the Documentation, it says that if I want all subscriptions of a plan to be expired on the same date (no matter when the subscribers sign up), I can choose that fixed expiration date into this field. For example, if I set this property to 31/12/2015:

• If users sign up before 31/12/2015, their subscription will be expired on 31/12/2015
• If users sign up after 31/12/2015, for example on 06/05/2015, their subscription will be expired in 31/12/2016

I don't understand this at all?  For a start, 06/05/2015 is before 31/12/2015.  What I really want is a subscription that shows to the user, has a fixed expiration date but is automatically unpublished on a certain date so people can't sign up any more.  Is this possible?
