How to allow upgrade plan after expired was created by Ari
How can we allow our users who had free membership plans (e.g. "student"), which then expired, later choose to upgrade to a paid membership plan (e.g. "fellow")?
How it currently works in our case:
A user can sign up for a "student" membership plan. It costs no money, Membership Pro is set to assign them to the Joomla groups "student" and "registered" on plan activation, the plan is set to expire after two years and, when it expires Membership Pro removes them from the "student" user group (so that user would be only in the "registered" group). As we don't want users to simply go on with a free "student" membership plan forever, that student plan does not allow renewal. The user remains in the registered group so they still have a login to the site in case they want to purchase a membership later. In Membership Pro's settings for the "student" plan, I have set "fellow" in the upgrade options.
The problem in our case:
These users cannot later choose to upgrade to a paid membership plan (e.g. "fellow").
How can I address this?
Thank you,
Ari

Hi Ari
Please go to Membership Pro -> Configuration, set Allow Upgrade From Expired Subscriptions config option to Yes, then try again
Expired subscribers from Students subscription plan should be allowed to update to paid plan
Regards,
Tuan
