One-Time Payment Question was created by Techmistress
Ok, I created a work-around for a one-time payment/purchase. Could someone verify for me if this indeed works - or, if there was an easier way of doing it, haha
I have no use for subscriptions that are only minutes long, so:
1. I did a language override for the word "Minute" to say "Time"
2. I created a plan for an item I want people to purchase
3. I set the subscription lengh to One Minute (read on the front-end as One Time)
4. I set the plan as Non-Recurring and Lifetime Membership to Yes (so they will always be customers and can log in)
Will this work fine? Is it too short? I can use the Day length in this way as well, if one minute doesn't work.
Thanks everyone!

What's the reason of set subscription length to just one minute? Could you please explain more details about it? Will user needs to renew their subscription ? Or just subscribe for it one time?
When they subscribe, do you need them to stay active? Or it is just uses as a way to accept payment from users for one time only ?

Thanks for the quick reply.
I just want to create a one-time only payment, but have them become members.
No renewal is needed.
I chose 1 minute, just to use that as a language change to say “One Time” on the front end.
Is there a setup that will render the “One Time” payment wording on the front end? I am using the “Circles” template.

Hi
For that, I don't think you should use 1 Minute subscription length. With 1 minute, subscription length will be expired within one minute after users subscriber and that's not what you want, I think
You should edit the plan, set Lifetime Subscription to Yes instead
Regards,
Tuan

That’s fine. I just need to know how to set up a one-time payment, that says “One Time” on the website, rather than “per mo”, etc.
I already selected Lifetime. My goal is to:
1. Have it only charge once, non-refundable
2. Say “one time” on the front end.
What is the best way to set that up?

Ah, I see. So I do not have to set a subscription length. That is what was hanging me up. I read the documentation, but I wasn’t sure how to do a one-time only payment. It seems quite obvious now.
Thank you!

OK. You can still set Subscription Length to the value you want. But for Lifetime subscription set to Yes, the subscription will stay active for lifetime(forever), so subscription is actually not important for this type of plan
