Countries and States

Do you maintain the lists of countries and states so that they are up to date in a brand new install?
Would it be possible to update our lists of states and countries in some way?
I am getting complaints from users that the list contain states that no longer exist in the UK and that some are missing.
I know I can manually edit the lists but this is always reactive based on feedback and never proactive.

Hi Alan

Honestly, I got countries/states database from internet, and populate the data on new installation. I could not know if these database are valid, so in your case, I guess you can update the countries and states yourself on your site. It won't be lost when you update to future releases of the extension.

Could you share where you get them from please?
Also if I manually add a state then what rules are there about populating State Code 3 and State Code 2?

Honestly, it was from sometime ago and I do not remember. For State 3 code, it is three characters represent the state code. Similar for state 2 code.

If you do not have that data, just enter random code, but please make sure it is unique for states in each country
