Stripe/Credit Cards

Occassionally when our subscribers enter credit card data they get an error msg. It had to do with an error in Zip Code. They know the Zip Code is valid but it will not accept the card information. If they use a different card it generally will go through without issue. The issue is random in that it does not occur every time.

Has anyone run into this and have you found the solution?

We use Stripe and the Stripe Payment plugin and the current version of Membership Pro.

Any suggestions/help is appreciated.

In general, this process is completely handled by Stripe API, so we do not have any clue why the error happens with some credit card and not others. I'm afraid of the only way is asking Stripe supports if you really wants to know the reasons

I will ask Stripe next. I did suspect the issue would be with them. I guess I was hoping someone else had experienced the issue and knew what was happening. I did not want to be the first.

If I learn anything from Stripe I will post it here so others may know for the future.

We have had similar issues with PayPal.
I suspect its part of enhanced security.
If the card holders info doesn't match exactly what's entered they reject it.
The randomness may depend on the risk they allocate to a particular transaction.

Could be. At the end, these things are handled by payment gateway. And as an extension integrated with the payment gateway, it is out of our control
