Place holder for the custom field "phone"

Hello,
I'm wondering why the custom field "phone" (core field) does not have a place holder field.
Screenshot is attached.
(Translation tab has a place holder field, but I cannot find a place holder field for the main language.)

Would it be possible to add place holder filed?

I just updated code to make it is possible to control place holder for this field type (and other field types, too)

Please access to My Downloads menu item, download latest package, upgrade it to your site.

After that, try again. It should work as expected
