Renewal Email Reminders

I have a membership plan which is valid for one year, and all subscribers' memberships expire on December 31st.
Many members renew, but some do not for various reasons - one of which is that the membership is no longer relevant to their job position.
In that case, they may request that we stop sending the reminder email.

However, our association is required to keep all expired membership records in the system, and preferably continue to show them as expired so that we can generate a report of both Active and Expired Memberships. I would therefore prefer not to mark them as cancelled. Also, no refund will occur. 

Is there any setting that would prevent "permanently" expired memberships from receiving reminder notices? For example, does the reminder plugin check to confirm the member's user profile is enabled before sending the reminder? That would be an easy solution for me to implement on a user by user basis if that's the case.

Membership Pro only send reminders to these subscribers one time. After that, for next year for example, it won't send reminder to these expired subscribers anymore

Would that work for your need? Or you need something different ?

Okay that's good to know. One more reminder is still scheduled to go out in a couple of weeks for the one-year plan. She has another membership to a 4-year plan that expires later this month. So she's getting reminders about renewing that plan as well. Ideally it I'd like to put a stop to those reminders if there was an easy solution (like disabling her user profile). But if there isn't an easy solution, I'll explain that she will not receive the reminders next year.

There is a way to enable/disable planned reminder for specific subscription record. You can go to Membership Pro -> Subscriptions, check on the checkbox next to subscription records you want, and press Actions -> Disable Reminder button in the toolbar will disable sending reminder for that selected subscriptions
