Import subscribers was created by lorna guttormson
I am doing a further test of Import subscribers and, although it worked very well earlier, I am having difficulties now.  I also have another question about the import.

1. For some reason  they are not importing and I cannot see why.  Is there an error file somewhere that tells admin why any entry is rejected or what errors there are?

2. I also see in the documentation that If you leave username empty 'You can leave this field empty and no account will be created.'  Will the subscription then be added but only accessible to the admin - not the user?

In case you can see what is wrong with my load file, I have attached it and the template provided by you for my account.  (I am loading them as .csv but converted to .xlax so they can be uploaded for attachment.

I found the problem. Somehow the input file got converted from UTF-8 . I have fixed that and it loaded properly. I am still curious though - is there an error file anywhere and if there is insufficient information to create or match a user record, is the subscription record still loaded and available to admin?

    Thanks
    Lorna

    Hi Lorna

I do not understand your last question. However, if there is certain information invalid (like no subscription plan, no email address ...), the subscription won't be created. I mean the system validates to make sure minimum data is available for the subscription before importing

    Regards,

    Tuan

Thank you. To clarify my questions:
    1. If a file to be loaded has 100 records and the response is that 98 records were loaded, is there some way to tell which records were rejected, and perhaps, why they were rejected?
    2. I have tested myself and yes, it seems I can load records without giving usernames and no Joomla user record will be created. However, it seems that you cannot create such records online as the username is not optional on any plan definition. Is this correct?
