1 Is there an option where a user can update their payment info? I see that you can SHOW the info but i don't see where they can manage their own payment info ie enter new card. Is this possible? Im using the standard/included authorize.net plugin
also, when signing up I am receiving 2 email thanking me for my subscription. have I done something to cause this to happen?
the 2 email are almost identical but one has the Membership ID listed and the other does not... they both have an identical pdf invoice attached

I re-read the manual and see that editing payment info is only available through stripe.
I turned off "Generate Membership ID" and now I only get one email. I don't need a membership ID so it not a big deal to me.
***EDIT*** I'm still getting 2 emails per signup.

Hi
Normally, Membership Pro will only send one email per sign up. Maybe another email is sent by Joomla to notify you about new user account?
Maybe you can send me screenshot of two emails so that I can see and tell you exactly where these emails come from ?

I don't know why there are two emails for a single subscription like that. Could you please submit a support ticket sending me super user account of your site so that I can check it directly on your site?
