Need to change pricing for recurring memberships was created by Eric vanBok
Hello.
I have a website where I need to change the pricing of recurring memberships. We are using PayPal for payments and recurring payments.
Is it as simple as changing the pricing of the memberships in Membership Pro and then then updating the pricing on the subscriptions in PayPal?
Any feedback or thoughts would be helpful. Thank you!
Eric

Hi Eric
That's actually, still not enough. You would also need to adjust the recurring payment amounts for existing subscription records so that the notification email will sent new email when subscription renewed :
- Go to Membership Pro -> Configuration, set Enable Editing Recurring Payment Amount config option to Yes
- Then go to Membership Pro -> Subscriptions, edit these existing subscription records, and change recurring payment amount data for each subscription
If all subscriptions have same payment amount, you can submit a support ticket so that I can guide you to update all of these records to new price using the built-in tool in the extension instead of having to update it one by one
Regards,
Tuan

Thank you. This is exactly what I needed.
I do have some questions. What does the configuration option "Enable Editing Recurring Payment Amount" actually do? Once I am done with the change do I leave it turned on?
I don't think this will be a problem to do manually but it is nice to know that there are ways of making the changes to all of the records at once if needed.
Thank you again for your help.

Hi Eric
The change here is only making the notification email show the correct (new recurring payment amount) amount when renewal processed
You still need to to change the recurring payment amount for each subscription manually through the payment gateway you are using

OK Eric. As I mentioned, in case all subscriptions of the plan has same recurring amount, we can run a hidden tool to update it to new amount instead of having to edit individual record
If you need that, submit a support ticket and we will discuss more details about it
