Improved user profile integration was created by reilldesign
Currently, the Joomla profile name, password and e-mail address are automatically created and updated with the corresponding plugin. The last thing missing is the username. How can this also be synchronized automatically? This is often supported by other extensions. The first time it is created automatically but not synchronized later.

Membership Pro is the perfect profile management tool for membership sites. In addition to the option of setting an avatar, it should also be possible to change the username (if required). This probably requires an optional text field username which updates the Joomla profile when changes are made. This is especially helpful for extensions that allow a choice between name and username regarding a display.

Hello

Could you please explain more details about your request? Changing username is already supported by Joomla. You just need to go to Users -> Manage, click on Options button in the toolbar, set Allow Changing Username parameter to Yes to allow users to change username

However, this option is not available in the Membership Pro profile menu item. Our customers do not have the option to change their username here.

We use setting from Joomla core. So just change the setting from Users component parameter as I explained earlier and it will work well

Hello Tuan,

I have activated the function and now I can edit the Membership Pro text field username in the frontend menu. This is linked to the Joomla profile username. However, after the update, the email is automatically entered.

We have created a text field "username" in the Fields Manager (01-Fields-Manager-Fields.png). This is linked to the "username" in the Joomla profile (02-Joomla-Profile-Field-Mappping.png). If this is updated in the frontend in the menu item edit profile, the e-mail address is automatically inserted as username (03-Edit-Profile.png). This seems to be related to the function use Email as username (04-Use-Email-As-Username.png). However, it should be possible to edit email and username separately. How do we manage this? Wouldn't it be good to have the username as a core field that is synchronized?

    Why do you need to create username custom field? Normally, username should be editable in user profile (without necessary to create custom field)

    Maybe you use Email as username option? If so, email should be username, so why you need to create that username custom field like that? It is a bit confusing to me
