Limit each user to only one subscription

This is a minor problem for us. Sometimes a user buys a membership for themselves and then buys another membership, NOT the Same Membership Plan, using the same account but intended for someone else. We then have to manually move the membership to the other user's account. I can't see a setting or plugin where we can restrict a user to having only one active membership.
Any ideas?

We basically, does not support that kind of restriction. So if you need it, the only way is perform customization to the code...

ok, that's fine. it is not a major issue for us, it only happens rarely and we can deal with it manually.
