Email Testing Confusion was created by Mary Furr
Test Use Case
Questions:
1. What is the correct way to record that an offline payment was received?
2. Is the purpose of the activation email to verify email addresses, or do I need to turn this email off for user who pay offline?
3. Where is the email containing the username and password located, and how do I turn it off?
Mary
- User registered and selected off-line payment.
- I opened the account information for the subscriber and changed the status to active (i. e., I received a check and notified the system that the member paid).
- The user received two emails:
- One that I customized for our organization that asks the email recipient to click on the link to activate their account (which I want to verify addresses associated with new members).
- A second message (that I do not want) that contains their user name and password.

Hi Mary
1. Edit the subscription record, change subscription status from Pending to Paid, save the record. Or simply publish the subscription record.
2. I don't know exactly what's the email you are talking about, so I could not answer this question
3. That email is sent automatically by Joomla. You can find the plugin User - Joomla! (from Joomla core), click on it to edit, set Notification Mail to User to No and that email won't be sent anymore

What helps me is to include the name of the email template at the bottom of each template.

I'm good, Tuan. I was just responding to comment that has disappeared. Sorry for the confusion. It just a technique that helped me quickly identify the email templates in testing.
