User registration without signing up for a subscription plan was created by Peter
Hello!
I have an issue regarding user registration in MP. I would like new users to be able to register using the integrated MP user registration, but without signing up for a subscription plan (not even a free/lifetime). Is that even possible? The general objective here is to combine MP with Helpdesk Pro services in a joint offering to our customers. Thus, I want users to be able to post tickets in Helpdesk Pro, without having to sign up for a plan. I understand that I could create a free lifetime plan, and call it "Basic membership". However, I judge that such a solution would confuse the customer.

Hi Peter
For that, why don't you use Joomla core users registration? That should be used to handle the requirement

Thanks for your response.
I am aware of the Joomla core user registration. However, with the current MP integrated registration I’m using custom fields for harvesting additional customer info upon registration, that also nicely shows up in the User profile once logged in. Given that I have multiple concerns switching to Joomla core user registration.
1) I find the Joomla core user registration awful to use when it comes to custom fields. It’s probably my poor Joomla skills, but as the MP dito works beautifully, it is a strong reason for not switching.
2) Does custom fields created via the Fields module show up in the MP user profile pane?
3) If switching to Joomla core user registration, how will that affect existing users?
4) Finally, when fiddling with this on our test site, it seems like the integrated user registration (with corresponding custom fields) remains on the signup page accessed after the customer clicked on the signup button for a plan – even when the integration is turned off in the MP configuration. Why is that?
Thank in advance for any help with this, and thank you for a fantastic application!

Hi Peter
If you don't like Joomla core user registration, then Create a Free Lifetime subscription plan to allow users to subscribe for is the only option to use
Regards,
Tuan
