How to stop notification emails to existing members

In preparation for upgrading one of our websites to Joomla 4, I created a clone of that website. I disabled the Membership Pro Reminder to prevent accidental notification emails from being sent from that cloned site.

To prevent existing members from receiving reminder emails from Membership Pro, would simply disabling Membership Pro Reminder achieve that goal?

Yes. Or better, go to System -> Global Configuration of your site, disable sending email from there so that email will be disabled from your whole site
