Hi Ernie

I haven't looked at how CB works in details, so I could not answer these questions. However, I just made small improvements to Members List today to allow select the plans which you want to display members from. That would make it a bit more flexible

I will take sometime to learn how other extensions handle members list (this is not something Membership Pro focus on, the extension's main task is still handles subscription) and if it is possible, improve this feature in Membership Pro

But it would take sometime

Regards,

Tuan

It's been a few years, and I thought I might revisit this question to see what might have changed in how lists are displayed. I have a new situation that will require many lists. I'm using Categories to organize them into about two dozen groups.

Have you considered improving the Members List and the Members List Columns Layout so they can be customized and better aligned with Community Builder's functionality? Or have there been changes that might allow connecting the membership level and expiration date to Community Builder as a synchronized field?

I want to check in on this before I start a new project and avoid using Community Builder.

Thank you,
Ernie

Joomlapolis has built a highly flexible system for displaying, filtering, and customizing users. I'm almost embarrassed to ask you to try to do what they have done. As I've noted previously, Joomlapolis's CB Paid Subscriptions was such an overwhelming nightmare to set up that I gave up after a few years trying to get all the zillions of settings right. And it seems that they've done little to improve it over the years. Membership Pro is far better designed. Their 579-page manual was last updated in 2016!

So maybe it's completely unreasonable to ask you to make Membership Pro do what Community Builder does for displaying users, but maybe there is a way to strengthen the connection so Membership Pro integrates with CB better. The sticking point is that CB has robust list filtering, so when a membership expires, that member's profile no longer appears in the lists. I do that manually: I created a date field and a sponsor level field in CB, and I manually set it to the MP expiration date and membership plan. Obviously, that's tedious, especially when I have nearly two dozen client websites to manage.

We discussed how your support of multiple plans per user makes it hard to simply sync data and plan fields to duplicate CB fields. And that same limitation prevents (or at least challenges) me from using a coding solution that would allow me to pull those fields from MP and sync them with fields in CB. But maybe that could be resolved with a plugin that works for MP users like me, who allow only one plan per user. And maybe I could pay you to develop that plugin.

I'd still need to manage both CB and MP, but the "automation" I need for connecting membership status and display options would be very helpful.

What would something like that cost?

Thank you,
Ernie

Thanks Ernie. I will look at CB to see how they handle members list display and see if I can get it improved in Membership Pro

Do you have a site with that members list feature implemented? If Yes, can you share me the link, maybe via support ticket?

Tuan
