Join group membership link - new members not enabled or activated

Hi, I use the join group membership link for my group plans to save my group admins time.

One of my new clients this week had their first member register themselves but they were not enabled or activated so were unable to use the website.
I've just tested their link with a dummy email and member details, and that entry is also showing as disabled and unactivated.

I'm not sure how many people use their join group links, I think most group admins add their members manually.  Is there something in the configuration or settings that I may have missed?

Hi Tracey

I guess they will receive an activation email and will need to click on the activation link from email to have the account activated

Could you please check that?

Hi Tuan, I don’t have activation emails switched on in the configuration so they don’t get an activation email.

Is it possible to to use the join group link without it?

And if I switch it on, will that mean all users will need to activate their accounts however they join or are added?

Sorry for such basic questions when I’ve been using the software for years! I’ve not looked at this functionality previously.

1. Super admin account

2. A sample join group link

I would just like to take a moment to add a huge thank you to Tuan and the other team members for offering the best forum and ticket support system around. (I've left reviews in all the normal places) I dread things going wrong with other Joomla software because of the support teams but I never get that feeling with Membership Pro, you genuinely are curious about why things might not be working as they should, and try different things until you find a solution.
