VAT Number field only when ordering for a company

Hi!

I've set up a custom field "vat_number" that should be displayd only when a user selects that he orders for a company. So I said that this field depends on another field (select list) where the user hast two options to select from. If he chooses "private" the field "vat_number" should be hidden; if he selects "company" the field should be displayd.

That works as long as I select "VIES Reg" in tax rules. When selected the field "vat_number" is always shown regardless the input of the select list.

Is there a way to handle this? Because I only want to show business user the VAT ID field.

It's quite hard to follow this without looking at the form and check the setup. Could you please submit a support ticket sending us super admin account of the site, link to the subscription form which I can see this issue so that I can check it?
