Hi Tuan,

Could you help me please with the following...

In the past we only had individual residents of our community as members and the name and address details are the name and address of the individual concerned (obviously).

Now we want to include complexes (these are organisations that house a number of residents, such as an apartment building) and the name and address would then be the person who manages the complex - the residents would in those cases be captured as group members of that management person.  To do this I have chosen to use different categories i.e one for individuals and one for complexes and the choice of a plan would be a function of the category chosen.  All good so far.

However, I want to make it clear on the subscription form for complexes that the name and address would be the person who manages those complexes - this is not immediately obvious and needs to be spelt out.  The instruction on the form would need to make this clear.  This instruction should, however, not appear on the individual category subscription form.

So, is it possible to either:
1.  Have a seperate form for each category, or
2.  Put some text on the form which only appears if the category is the one for complexes?

I hope that this is all clear, but let me know if you need any further information.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Bill

I think we can assign custom fields to the plans we want, so each subscription plan could have it own custom fields/subscription form if needed. Isn't ath what you are trying to do?

No, not really.

The problem arises when I want to use an existing field, such as the first-name and last-name fields. The labels for those fields is set to refer to an Individual member and not those of the complex manager - hence the confusion.

I guess that I could just create new fields for the manager's first-name and last-name but there would be a duplication as I can't suppress the core fields and we would end up with two first-names and last-names.

Actually, you can assign First Name, Last Name fields to the plans you want, so I think you won't end up with two first_name and last_name fields as you thought. Could you please try to setup that?
