Subscription pending: why? was created by artax
Hi there,
I'm testing with Paypal Sandbox; the transaction gets executed and the user redirected to the subscription complete page/ menu item.
However, the subscription is pending until I publish it. I'd need the subscription to get automatically activated as soon as the transaction is complete.
I saw that on paypal sandbox account the payment is labelled as "pending": could it be the reason why the subscription is pending as well?
Lastly: in which cases a payment should be pending, requiring the admin to manually activate it?
Thanks.

Hello
As you can see, for some reasons, the payment at PayPal Sandbox is still pending, mean payment is not received yet, and that's the reason the subscription is Pendinging
If the payment has Complete status (mean payment received), everything will work well. On a live mode, it should be complete status, and no need for admin to manually activate the subscription

Hi there,
I've done a test with Paypal Live and the money gets credited, but the subscription is still inactive as I said above with Paypal Sandbox.
If the payment is complete and successful, why the subscription is still pending?
EDIT: I've just read about Paypal IPN on the documentation and my site is still on localhost. I will check again once the site will be online.
Thanks.

Yes. When your site is on localhost, PayPal could not notify you about the payment, so it won't work. To use PayPal, you need to setup your site on a public accessible server.
