We are looking at implementing Group Membership but not sure it will be100% suited to our needs.
We have several levels of membership setup as unique plans (ie only one subscription is allowed at a time) and they all have different requirements and pricing.
We want to offer a group membership for a fixed fee, providing xx memberships on any of the levels and then get each member to join themselves at a heavily discounted rate.
This could probably be done easily with coupon codes issued but Group Membership sounds like it may be better.
Anyone's experiences with this feature would be appreciated?
My questions:
1. Should the group membership be created as a different category (to avoid the issue of unique plans blocking the group admin from joining another plan) OR would we make it just a different level in the same category as the other levels?
2.Can it be set so that the members must join themselves rather then the group admin being able to join for them?
3. When the group admin sends a join link to the proposed members, can they still determine which membership level they choose?
4. Can it be configured to charge them a small (discounted) fee upon joining (different amounts depending on level) if this is required?
5. If the admin sends a join link to a current member will it work ok for their renewals as well?
6. What happens with renewal reminders etc, do they still go out to all members or just the group admin?
7. Can we set tiered group membership levels, eg buy 5 for $$$ or buy 10 for $$$, 11-20 for $$$ etc
8. Can the group admin be either a non-member OR one of the members?
9. Is everything seamless if someone leaves the group or someone new is offered a 'seat' during the year?
