Disabling MembershipPro emails on a staging site

I will be cloning a current website to a staging site so I can work on it and design a new template. I need MembershipPro to be enabled on the staging site but I don't want it to send out any emails. It doesn't matter if it changes the membership database for the staging site because it will be temporary and when I've finished, the new template will be uploaded to the live site.

Is the best way to do this to simply delete the 'From Email' address in the Configuration, Subscription Settings, Mail Settings and to set 'Disable Admin Notification' to Yes or is there a better way to stop it sending out emails?

Better disable emails from your whole site. Go to System -> Global Configuration, look at Server tab, set Send Emails config option to No
