Onetime payment subscription plans was created by Robert Aguirre
The documentaion mentions "Onetime Payment Subscription Plans" (Chapter 2 - Plans). The documentation does not specifically address this type of plan.
I'd like to send an invoice to a client for work I've performed. I'd like to know how best to set this up.

There are two types of subscription plans:
- Onetime subscription: Subscription is not renewed automatically. So when users subscribe for that type of plan, they will be active for certain duration defined in subscription length setting of the plan (for example: One week, One month, One year....). After that, subscription will become expired. So users will have to renew the subscription manually
- Recurring subscriptions: In this case, payment will be processed automatically and subscription will be renewed automatically. No manual action needed from users (for example, payment is processed automatically every month and when payment happens, subscription will be renewed)
Back to your requirement, honestly, I don't think Membership Pro is suitable for this requirement. I don't know if there is an invoice extension. If not, maybe a kind of Form extension (like our Payment Form extension will work better). Basically, you can create a form to allow users to access to that form to process payment for the payment amount you want. When payment is processed, it will generate and send invoice to the user

I purchased Membership Pro, and I use it for tasks that are membership oriented. Works wonderful for that. On the backend, I really like the refund functionality which saves lots of steps when I need to issue a refund.
You're probably right that my requirement would be better solved a different way. I'm currently using Invoice Manager for one-offs (JoomlaThat). Whle it does recurring auto billing, it can't touch Membership Pro's front-end flexibility.
If Payment Form integrated with Membership Pro that might be a solution for my requirement. I am just trying to find one app that will do both kinds of billing.
Thanks for your response.

Actually, you can try to use Membership Pro to handle that, too. The question is what's the amount of the invoice? Is it fixed payment fee or the fee is different?
You might want to create a plan with Price = 0. Then create custom fee field to allow users to enter the amount they want to pay membershipprodoc.joomservices.com/basic-...ox-custom-field-type
The idea is that users can access to the subscription form, enter payment amount (for the invoice) there and process payment. It is unfortunately, does not have a way to allows you to create an invoice and send to customers for making payment

All services are fixed price.
But I also do some jobs by the hour. For those jobs, the price fluctuates.

For fixed price services, you can setup standard plans to take payment
For the jobs, I think you can use free plan with custom fee fields to allow getting custom payment amount
Not sure if it works. If not, better handle it in a separate extension
