LOGIN FORM Module - does it check JOOMLA Enabled and Activated Flags

Does the LOGIN FORM module check both the JOOMLA Enabled and the JOOMLA Activated Flags before it allows someone to login?

Here's the situation.
1. Subscriber chooses the "Forgot your password" option.
2. Corresponding JOOMLA user is marked as not activated and an email goes out requesting the verification code.
3. Subscriber ignores this and remembers their password and logs in successfully.

The JOOMLA flag is still set as not activated, yet the user/subscriber was able to login successfully and can continue to log in successfully.

Is this how it is supposed to work?

The problem is for a user/subscriber who doesn't remember their password and doesn't understand the verification code email they get.  They go round and round in circles getting frustrated.  We are going to try rewording the verification email to point people at the LINK before the manual entry of the code and perhaps a bit more explanation.  This will be our workaround.

Thanks

Hello Darlene

The login process is handled by Joomla, so something we could not changed

And from what I see, if the user account is enabled, they can still login (Joomla does not care about is was activated or not)

Tuan

Thank you Tuan.  I assumed MPro handled the login; now I know Joomla does.
We send out a notice about new newsletters being posted on our website and this is where this becomes a problem for a few weeks while everyone tries to log in.
We'll just need to keep an eye out for these deactivations.

Upon further investigation, found that the ACTIVATED flag is only used for the initial user registration process.

Although there is one exception, when someone requests a password reset.

So, it really doesn't affect the ability to log in going forward, which is good news.

Just thought I would update this thread with our final testing results. It was a red herring.
