Problems with allowing members to join a group link was created by Tracey Field
Hi, the new feature from version 2.22.1 that allows members to join a group via a joining link is causing a few problems. The link is working ok, and the member is taken to a join group page to register their details to join the correct group. However, when they try to proceed they get an error message:
'The most recent request was denied because it had an invalid security token. Please refresh the page and try again.'
Any ideas to rectify it is there something I missed out on in the setup?
Thanks. Tracey

Hi Tracey
I guess the page is cached, and that's the reason causing the error
Could you please check to see on your site has cache enabled? if there is, disable cache should address/solve the issue
Regards,
Tuan

Thanks Tuan, I've disabled cache in the general configuration, and yes that now works without issue.
Does that mean I need to leave the cache disabled for this function to continue working?

Hello Tracey
How you use cache on your site? Is it cache in Global Configuration of Joomla or using System - Page Cache plugin?
I don't have much experience with Joomla cache but I can try to look at it to see if we can come up with a better solution

Hi Tuan, I disabled the cache through the Global Configuration but the caching plugin is from my hosting company Siteground, they use dynamic cache - here is a link with some more details about their plugin:
www.siteground.co.uk/kb/dynamic-cache-joomla/
Scrolling down the link they finish with details about excluding URLs from the caching which I'm guessing maybe the solution to having the group links working as well as caching for my site speed?
So if we can work out what the URL is that group members are taken to after putting in their details I could blacklist it from cache? I think the URL group to exclude would be mysite.co.uk/join-group-membership? does that look right to you?
Thanks Tracey
